She was born in Brantley County and lived all of her adult life in Ware County. She was a member of Jamestown Baptist Church and retired in 1994 after 23 years as a nurse in the office of Dr. W.B. Bates.
Survivors: a daughter, Janice J. Ray of Waycross; five sons: Arthur L. Scurry Jr. and Larry A. Scurry, both of Blackshear, Jimmy Scurry and Jim Williams III, both of Waycross, and Dwayne Surry of Richmond Hill; three sisters, Mrs. Leonard Thrift of Waycross, Emilee Grissom of Orlando, Fla., and Myrtis Mims of Sanford, Fla.; a brother, Dwight Rowell of Orlando; nine grandchildren and other relatives.
Visitation: 7-9 p.m. today at Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home, Blackshear.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home, Blachshear, burial in Thomas Cemetery near Waycross.
