Nancy Gleaton contributed the following obit: St. Matthews - Milton O. Nelson, 56, died Saturday in Orangeburg Regional Hospital. The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at West End Cemetery directed by Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. Mr. Nelson was born in St. Matthews, a son of the late William K. and Mrs. Sarah Alberta Taylor Nelson. He was a florist and caterer, a veteran of World War II and a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church. Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Riley Nelson; a daughter, Mrs. A. P. Hane Jr. of St. Matthews; a son, M. O. Nelson Jr. of Charleston; his stepmother, Mrs. W. K. Nelson Sr. of Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. James Frazier, Mrs. Roy Allread and Mrs. Henry Livingston, all of St. Matthews; three brothers, T. M. Nelson of St. Matthews, G. K. Nelson of Columbia and W. K. Nelson of Eastover; a grandson.
