Mae B. Martin, 88, of Rushville, died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.

Born Feb. 28, 1918, in Rush County, she was the daughter of C.W. and Elva (Kennedy) Beckner, both deceased. She married Lewis Martin in 1954; he preceded her in death April 18, 1988.

Mrs. Martin retired from Western Electric in Indianapolis in 1988 after 25 years of service. She was a member of Hannegan Christian Church. She lived her early life in Rushville, resided in Indianapolis for several years and returned to Rushville in 2000.

Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Bush of Monon; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son Max York, two brothers, Dawson and Francis Beckner, and one sister, Janet.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with the Rev. William Beadle officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
