Register - Mrs. Mary Jane Nevil, age 94, died Saturday, April 15, 2006 at her home near Register. She was born in Tattnall County on August 26, 1911 to the late Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Moseley of Reidsville. On June 27, 1931 she became the wife of the late J. Paul Nevil of Register. She was a loving and devoted wife for 70 years before Paul's death on October 25, 2001. Mrs. Nevil was a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Nevil was a past member of the Jolly Club, a pink lady with the Bulloch County Women's Auxiliary and served as Secretary of the Sheriff's Wives Association. She was also preceded in death by her son, John C. Nevil, who was a lieutenant with the Georgia State Patrol and her great granddaughter, Rachel Marlowe.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Paul Knowles of Columbia, S.C., and Elna and Jerry Strickland of Register, GA.; one daughter-in-law, Martha Nevil of Griffin, GA,; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
