He was born May 14, 1898 in Franklin County, Arkansas. He attended school at Byford, and was retired from the stockyards. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mozell, and one son, Leon Abney. Mr. Abney is survived by one daughter, Marie Massey, Blanchard; two sons, John D Abney, Moore, and Billy Joe Abney, Del City; three brothers, Ben Abney, Bakersfield, California, and Jess Abney and Herman Abney, Stratford; two sisters, Zettie Sizemore, Stratford, and Ruth Spurlock, Lindsay. Burial was in McGee Cemetery. 20 Jun 1985
