Obituary Print Elnette C. Whipple (1910-2008)
Elnette C. Whipple, 98, of North Platte passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at Linden Court.
Elnette was born to William Whipple Sr. and Dora Byron Whipple on July 25, 1910, in Quincy, Ill. She graduated high school in 1927 and attended Kearney State College. She then joined the Civil Service in 1941 where she worked for the government in New Jersey and Pennsylvania until her retirement in 1978. Elnette was very active in the First Baptist Church in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and North Platte. She enjoyed traveling and playing the piano and Organ. She also enjoyed knitting and tatting. Elnette was a member of NAARF and the ABW.
Elnette is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by 16 nephews and nieces including Hervy (Donna) Saathoff, Arthur (Mary Lou) Saathoff, Bonnie (Bob) Smith, Leslie (Bill) Burke of North Platte. Also, there are numerous great-nephews and nieces and great-great-nephews and nieces.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Adams and Swanson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tom Wiles officiating. Burial will be at North Platte Cemetery following the service.
