Sara L. Hall, 87, of Hollidaysburg died unexpectedly Saturday evening at her residence.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George and Antionette (Musser) Akers. She married Charles W. Hall July 7, 1945, at Simpson United Methodist Church, Altoona. He preceded her in death July 19, 2000.

She is survived by a son, C. Kent and wife, Becky Lee (Rice) Hall, of Hollidaysburg; and two grandsons: C. Alexander and Douglas. She was preceded in death by a brother, Graden.

She was a member of Simpson-Temple United Parish.

She formerly worked as a secretary for Bell Telephone.

She was a 1939 graduate of Altoona High School.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg (www.sorgefuneralhome.com). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by the Rev. Denise M. Arpino. Interment at Alto Reste Park.
