MORAN, KS - H. Kenneth Weast, 86, Moran, Kansas, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at Sunshine Home, Buhler, Kansas.
He was born July 11, 1918, the son of Alonzo Clay and Rachael Huey (Aber) Weast.
He was raised in the Moran area and attended schools there, graduating from Moran High School in 1936.
On May 3, 1942, he married Maud Evelyn Hawkins in rural Moran, Kansas. She died Feb. 17, 2003.
He was a farmer and dairyman for more than 50 years.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Moran, where he served as Elder, Patriarch of the Church, and on the church board. He was also a member of Prairie Rose Community Club, the Grange, Moran Senior Center, and Prairie Rose 4-H.
He enjoyed playing pitch and dominoes, hunting, fishing, and following the Moran football team.
Survivors include three sons, David Weast, Buhler, KS; Larry Weast, Hiawatha, KS, and Jerry Weast, North Potomac, MD; a daughter, Debbie Weast, Moran, KS; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sept. 23, 2004, at First Christian Church, Moran, Kansas, led by the Rev. Bill LaPorte. Burial will be in Moran Cemetery.
Memorials to First Christian Church may be left with the funeral home.
