He was born April 8, 1921, at Pretty Prairie, the son of Roy and Ida Mae East Clark. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he was a 1937 graduate of Zenda High School and had also lived in Wichita, Grand Junction, Denver and Salida, Colo. He was retired after 35 years with Southwestern and Mountain Bell Telephone Companies.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No 124, AF & AM, the Wichita Consistory and Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a U.S. Army vetern of World War II.
On March 11, 1947, he married Dorothy R. Blessing at Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Kelly, Wichita; a daughter, Laurie Stone, Belle Plains; a brother, Leroy Clark, Zenda; a sister, Calve Zink, Hutchinson; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Milton.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in North Inman Cemetery. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with Dr. D. Allen Polen, presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
