Isaac Louis Brooks was born 10 Dec. 1854 near Marine, IL, son of Martin & Margaret L. Brooks. He died 29 March 1934 at age 79 years, 3 months, 19 days.
He came to Wayne County MO at age 20. He married Miss Rowena Thornburgh of near Patterson MO on 23 Dec 1874.
The couple had 13 children, 9 of whom survive him. They are sons W.D. Brooks (Conway AK), Eli Brooks (Patterson MO), Millard Brooks (University City MO), Charles Brooks (Bloomfield MO) & Fred E. Brooks (Webster Groves MO) and daughters Mrs. Sadie Neely (Santa Ana CA), Miss Ruth Brooks (Brunot MO), Mrs. Estella Henson ( Piedmont MO) & Mrs Virgie Hovis (Patterson MO). All were able to attend his funeral except Sadie.
He accepted Christ & became a member of the Christian Church at Marine IL around age 20, and was ordained at Peach Tree Fork in 1895. He has preached in almost every town & country church in Wayne County MO over 40 years.
