Steve was born July 1st, 1948 in Joplin, MO to John Howard Aaron and Carol Jeanne (Leverett) Aaron. He moved with his family to Sioux Falls in 1963. Steve graduated from Washington High School in 1966. Prior to graduation, Steve spent 1 year in the Naval Reserve, transferring to active duty in the United States Marine Corp upon graduation and served from 1966 to 1969. Steve received the Purple Heart for injuries received in combat in Vietnam in 1968. Steve returned to Sioux Falls and worked at several occupations until 1990 when he began working for the US Postal Service, retiring from there in 2004.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Steve is survived by his mother, brothers Mike Aaron and Mark Aaron of Sioux Falls, Richard Aaron of Fort Walton Beach FL, sister Jeanne Ann (Stephen) Korst of Sioux Falls, 5 nieces, 1 nephew and numerous cousins and relatives.
Visitation will begin at 4 pm Sunday, December 21, 2008, with the family present from 5 to 6:30 pm at Miller Funeral Home, 13th & Main. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Monday, December 22, 2008, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with burial at Black Hills National Cemetery.
