Visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, from 8 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Mr. Boykin passed away in Sulphur on Monday, January 19, 2009.
A native of Boyce, Louisiana and a longtime resident of Sulphur, Mr. Boykin worked for Lonestar Cement as a Kiln Operator and later worked as a pipe fitter in the construction industry until retiring. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Lake Charles.
Mr. Boykin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mattie Boykin, and great grandson Forrest Boykin.
He is survived by his two sons, W.L. Boykin and wife Donna Jean of Sulphur and Ernest Boykin and wife Joan of Sulphur; one sister, Margie Glass and husband "Sap" of Magnolia, Ark.; three grandchildren, Richard Boykin and wife Tina of Sulphur, Tena Goleman and husband Mike of Lake Charles and Brent Boykin and wife Dawn of Sulphur; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren..
