Shirley Newby, of Terrell, passed away Dec. 3, 2012. Shirley was born Nov. 20, 1935 in Ellis County, TX to Albert and Mary Sigler. Shirley was a talented and avid quilter and she met every Wednesday with the Oak Ridge Quilters where she was a beloved and treasured member. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Terrell and attended the Lottie Moon Sunday School class and enjoyed every minute of her studies with friends in her class. Shirley also had a love for bargains and finding a "great deal"-she often looked like she stepped off a runway with the great clothes and accessories that she enjoyed shopping for. She had a heart that was as big as Texas and she loved and helped every one that she met. Her smile and gentleness will truly be missed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bobby Gene Newby, and her sister, Vernrose Lainer. She leaves to treasure her memory her daughters: Paula Anderson and husband, Mitch of Mesquite and Jana Spivey of Richardson; grandchildren: Michelle Roberts and husband, Joel, John Anthony Hernandez and wife, Liz, and Heather Clegg; great grandchildren: Ryleigh, Julieann, Jaden, Jayci, Hannah, and Dora as well as several extended family members and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.

Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with Rev. John Lowrie officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:00pm at Maypearl Cemetery in Maypearl, Tx where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband. The family will receive friends 5-7pm, Thursday, Dec. 6, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution in honor of Shirley's generosity to any charity that you hold close to your heart.
