Funeral services for Mr. Newt T. Jones, age 84, of Honey Grove, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 18, 1988, at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Honey Grove. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery with the Reverend Thomas Olson officiating.

Mr. Jones was born April 7, 1903, in Allen's Point. He was the son of Newt Tolbert Jones, Sr. and Delia Rogers.

On September 21, 1928, he married Mandy Anne Stoehner of Bonham.

Mr. Jones was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Allen's Chapel Community and a retired laborer.

He passed away Saturday, January 16, 1988, in McCuistion Medical Center in Paris, after an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife, Mandy Anne Jones of the home; a son, Robert N. Jones of Fontana, Calif; one daughter, Frances Strickland of Greenville; two sisters: Carrie Thompson of Bonham and Lola Sizemore of Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Newt T. Jones of 906 North 5th Street, Honey Grove, died Saturday, January 16, 1988 at 6:05 p.m. at McCuistion Regional Medical Center in Paris, following an extended illness.

Mr. Jones was born in the Allens Point Community April 7, 1903, the son of Newt Tolbert Jones, Sr. and Delia Rogers Jones.

He was married at Bonham, Texas September 21, 1928, to Mandy Anne Stoehner.

He was a laborer and a member of the St. James Lutheran Church at Allens Chapel.

Funeral services were held at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel, Honey Grove at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 1988, with Rev. Thomas Olson, pastor of the St. James Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove.

Grandsons serving as pallbearers. They were Robert Newhouse, Larry D. Newhouse, James M. Newhouse, Joey M. Jones, Leon W. Jones and Steve Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Mandy Jones of the home; one son, Robert N. Jones of Fontana, California; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Strickland of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Thompson of Bonham and Mrs. Lola Sizemore of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
