Bobby E. Pennington, of Charleston, died June 12, 2002. Mr. Pennington was the retired chief engineer of Combat Systems at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He served in the South Carolina National Guard for 12 years.

Mr. Pennington was past president of the Charleston Amateur Radio Society and was a master Mason with Mariner Lodge #2. He attended James Island Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Evelyn Wilson Pennington, 1087 Southgate Drive, Charleston, SC, 29407-4207; two sisters, three grandchildren and two daughters-in-law.
