OBITUARY - "Roberts County Republican", Oct. 20, 1917

Mrs. Amos Eastman, who had been ill for more than a year and a half, passed away at her home in this city at 11:15 a.m. Thursday October 18.

The deceased whose maiden name was Abbie D. Adams, was born in Charleston, New Hampshire on September 4, 1843 and was therefore 74 years, 1 month and 14 days old at the time of death. When a child she left New Hampshire with her parents and came to Goodhue County, Minnesota, where she was married to Amos A. Eastman on January 26, 1863. In the spring of 1881 they came to Grant county and settled on a homestead. They removed to Wilmot in the fall of 1907 where their home has been ever since.

Mrs. Eastman was a devout Christian and a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was a woman of fine character, greatly devoted to her home and family.

Besides the husband the deceased is survived by three sons, Fred of Minneapolis; Pearl of Wilmot and Lovell of Escondido, California; and three daughters, Mrs. Geo. Bailly of Sisseton; Mrs. Major Bailly of Peever and Mrs. A.H. Mitchell of Minneapolis; and her father, who is 94 years old living in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and one sister living in Minnesota; also a large number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Heghin officiating and the remains laid to rest in the Wilmot cemetery. The Republican extends sincere sympathy to the bereaved.
