Alvin B. Sacarborough was a twin of C. D. Scarborough who died as an infant and was buried in Central Cemetery. Their parents were Robert Everett Lee Scarborough and his wife Minnie Lucretia Smith. Alvin B. appeared on the 1920 census of Ward Six, Robeline, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, as a seven year old son, in the household of his father R. L. Scarborugh.

According to Jewell Davis Scarborough in her book "Southern Kith and Kin", volume 3 (1957); Alvin B. Scarborough married Myrtle Scott on 10 February 1935 in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
