Nora Lee Strickland Hendrix, 73, born 3 Sep 1903, of Route 3 Waycross, passed away Friday, 17Sep 1976, at Florida Keys Memorial Hospital in Key West, FL after a short illness.

A native of Pierce County, she was a daughter of the late Alphonso McFoid Strickland and Rosa Douglas Strickland and the widow of Fountain Daniel Strickland. She was educated in Pierce County, and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors are six daughters, Bonnie Bell Hendrix, Mrs. Robert Capliner and Mrs. Alvin Thompson, all of Homestead, FL, Mrs. Burnell Sands and Mrs. Johnny Fich, both of Key West, FL; three sons, Jimmy Hendrix of Bristol, Harvey Hendrix of Homestead. FL, and Johnny Hendrix of Miami, FL; five sisters, Goldie Aldridge, Stella Sapp, Ella Allen, Rosalie Pierce, and Fannie Mercer, all of Waycross; two brothers, Roy and Demery Strickland, both of Waycross; 28 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Services were at 11 A. M. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Baxter James officiating, assisted by Rev. Lonnie Gibson. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Greg Williams, H. S. Wilson, John Wilson, Monsie Wilson, Hubert Wilson, and Fred Hickox.

Chambless Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
