Former Salem woman dies after apparents jump from a moving vehicle

A 39 - year old Licking woman, formerly of Salem, according to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Pamele Hurst apparently jumped out of a moving vehicle, hit the roadway,landed unconscious in a ditch and drowned, Texas County Coroner Thomas Whitaker said Monday night.
Hurst was a passenger in a 1992 Mercury Topaz south bound on Shipp Drive, five mile south of Licking, when the accident at 1 a.m. according to Troop G. of the Highway Patrol.
The vehicle was driven by Dane Puhrmann, 23, Licking, according to the highway Patrol.
Whitaker said evidence indicated that thet the vehicle's speed was 35 to 40 miles an hour when Hurst apparently jumped out. He also said that Hurst suffered a head injury. An autopsy was performed Saturday in Springfield.
The patrol's report indicated that Hurst was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:05 a.m. by Whitaker.
Funeral service for Hurst was held this afternoon, { Tuesday} at James and Gahr Chapel in Salem. Interment was in Morrison Cemetery in Northern Dent County.
Suvivors include her parents, Margaret and Charles Malone of Salem; and Jerry and Lorette Yeisley of Springfield.
