Puxico, MO - Mildred Walker Powers, 82, died Aug. 27, 2003, at her home.
Born March 14, 1921, in Bell City, daughter of the late Elmer and Pearl Denton Riney, she lived in Puxico since 1949, where she was a member of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
She was a nurse aide at the Puxico Nursing Center before retiring.
On Sept. 31, 1940, she married Richard "Dick" Walker who preceded her in death on July 20, 1971. She and Robert H. Powers were married Sept. 23, 1977, in Puxico and he died on Sept. 28, 2001.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Rita Ann and David Green; three brothers, Joseph "LV" Riney, Elmer "Bud" Riney and Johney Riney; and one sister, Viola Meyers.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Wayne Walker, in infancy; two brothers, Paul J. Riney and Virgil Riney; and four sisters, Barbara Ellen Riney, Ethel Curry, Helen Schenider and Betty Riney.
Visitation was at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services are scheduled with Elder Jerry Park of Puxico and Elder Donald Adams of Matthews officiating.
Burial followed in the Puxico Cemetery.
