Melvin Henry Meier and Virgil Wayne Miller
Two deaths in car accident
HAVEN -- Funeral services for Melvin H. Meier, 28, of Burrton, and Virgil W. Miller, 18, of Haven, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rev. K.J. Karstensen officiating. Meier and his nephew Miller, were killed in a one-car accident shortly after midnight Monday near Haven. Born March 2, 1938, at Burrton, Meier was a gang pusher in the oil fields for Driller Production Oil Company. He had lived in Burrton all of his life. Member: St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Haven. Survivors: Mother, Mrs. Irene Meier, Burrton; brother, Robert, Marion; sisters, Mrs. Mary McPeak, Spivey; Mrs. Lee Miller, Haven.
Born Oct. 12, 1948, at Haven, Miller was a student at a Wichita vocational school. Member: St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Haven. Survivors: Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Miller, Haven; sister, Linda Kay, of the home; grandmother, Mrs. Irene Meier, Burrton.
