Anthony (Tony) was born in San Jose CA to Vincenzo (Giangrasso) Jangrus(1878-1915) and Rosa (Rose) Campagna Jangrus (1889-1988). Tony's sister was Lena Jangrus Costanzi (1907-1974).

After Anthony's father death his mother married Joseph Catania. His step siblings were Joseph Cantania (1914-1997), Josephine Catania (b. 1915), Rose Marie Catania Zito (1917-1993), Vince Catania (b. 1919), Mary Catania Cetani (b. 1922), Samuel Catania (b.1923) and Serapfina (Effie) Catania (Sister M. Cabrini) (b.1925)

He was married to Margharita (Margaret) Ciraulo in 1930 in San Jose, California. Margaret & Tony had six children who were Rosamond Jangrus (Dorr), Shirley Jangrus (Dorr), Margorette (Midge) Jangrus Spencer, Vincent (Vince) Jangrus, Paulie (Paul) Jangrus and Toni Margaret Jangrus.

Anthony lived at 751 east Taylor Street on the corner of 16th Street in San Jose, California in the house he built. He was a building contractor and owned A.J. Construction.

Passed away peacefully on June 4, 2008, age 97. Anthony was born in San Jose, CA he served in the US Army during World War II. He was a Building Contractor & built hundreds of buildings, residential & commercial properties in the area. He was an avid hunter & fisherman. Beloved son of the late Rose Catania. Beloved hushand of the late Margaret Jangrus who was his childhood sweetheart Beloved father of Rosamond Dorr, Shirley Drr, Midge Spencer of San Jose, Vince Jangrus of Ben Lomand, Paul Jangrus of Tucson, AZ, Toni Margaret Jangrus of San Jose. Beloved grandfather of 12, great-grandfather of 13 and great-great grandfather of 7. Viewing to begin at 3pm tues., June 10 @ Lima Family Erickson Mortuary, 710 Willow Street, San Jose. Vigil will be at 7pm. Interment will be Wednesday, June 11 @ 10am @ Calvary Cemetery, 2655 Madden Avenue, San Jose.
