Mrs. Gladys Blankenship Hobgood, 90, of Riverside, Calif., formerly of Monette died Friday at the Riverside Community Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Mrs. Gladys Blankenship Hobgood, 90, of Riverside Calif., died Friday in the Riverside Community Hospital. The daughter of Joseph Blankenship, one of the founders of Monette. Mrs. Hobgood lived there until five years ago when she moved to Riverside.
She served as Monette postmaster from 1936 until 1965, and was a lifelong member of the Monette United Methodist Church, the Wesleyan Service Guild and the United Methodist Women. She was a former Worth Matron of the OES.
Surviving are one daughter, Allyn Hobgood Milam of Riverside and one grandson, Lynn Thomas Krause of Annapolis, Md. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer L. Hobgood in 1983, and by one daughter Sarah Joe Hobgood McFadden in 1950.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 10 in the United Methodist Church in Monette, with Rev. Elmer Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Monette Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jodie Brown, Lucian layne, Gail Cullum, John Paul Masner, Wayne out and Russell Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Blankenship, Harry Adams Sr., John Buzick, Robert E. Cannon, Clyde G. Evans and Almus Matthews.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 o 8 in the Gregg Funeral home in Monette which has carge of arrangements.
Persons wishing to leave lasting memorials are asked to consider the United Methodist Church in Monette.
