Joel H. German was born about 1822 in Tn. He married Katherine Jane Shortner on April 19 1845 in Grainger Co. TN
He bought property in Fayetteville Arkansas in 1855 and was one of the founding fathers of York, Iowa in 1857. He had at least 9 children.
