A CSA soldier of the Civil War. Sgt, Thomas Perry Cypert enlisted 1861 in Co. H, 7th Reg't. Arkansas Infantry under Capt. Deuson. He was with the troops stationed at Bowling Green, KY during that year and after participating in the battle of Shiloh the following year, was discharged.

He afterwards had served in Company F, Freeman's Missouri Cavalry Regiment. He enlisted in Izard County in 1864 and was paroled at Jacksonport, Arkansas on 5 Jun 1865, listing age as 45.
