Dan Burkett, 77, Is Stricken Fatally
Dan Burkett, 77, died at 6:30 this morning at his home at 322 East Washington St. after having suffered a heart attack.
Born in Pennsyvania Feb. 22, 1877, a son of John and Mary Burkett, his marriage was to Verta Swartz whose death occured May 14, 1950.
A former custodian of the high school, Mr. Burkett was a member of the First Methodist Church. He had been a resident of Bluffton for the past 25 years. Mr. Burkett was the last surviving member of his family.
The body was taken to the Jahn Funeral home where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening.
Services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the funeral home with Rev. Samuel Emerick officiating. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery.
