Alvin was born & died in Provo, Utah, although he lived there only a total of 5 years. Growing up in Salt Lake City, he sold ice cream after school by way of a pedal cart. His earnings went to pay for music lessons on clarinet. He married & raised his family in California where he, with brother & father, owned & operated a sweater manufacturing factory, making real wool, top quality sweaters for schools, stores & Hollywood movies. Called Jonesknit. He was a Scoutmaster & scout leader trainer for many years. He liked camping & fishing. He made friends easily. His employees liked working for him. He earned his Eagle Scout award with his boys. He sang in quartets. He served a stake mission in Inglewood. He loved his grandchildren & often was found in his favorite chair with popcorn & a grandchild on his lap. Ordained Seventy and served as Stake Missionary and had Seventy's Book Store in their home.
