Dr. Percy Elbert Braswell, 72, of Whiteville, formerly of Carteret County, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at home.
He was the son of the late Percy Ezelle and Nina Ellen Danford Braswell and was preceded in death by a grandson, Ernest Floyd Hudson Jr. He was the residing minister at Myrtle Head Baptist Church in Ash for the past five years. Before serving at Myrtle Head Baptist Church, he served at Vandermere Baptist Church for 28 years and at Vanceboro Baptist Church in Vanceboro for four years prior. He was owner of Havelock Economy TV Service for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Linnie DuBoise Braswell; son, Percy Elbert Braswell Jr. of Newport; two daughters, Sarah B. Hudson of Whiteville and Sharon Braswell of Newport; brother, Jesse Braswell of Wilmington; two sisters, Becky B. Martin of Four Oaks and Janie B. Brushaber of Pocahontas, Ark.; and many grandchildren.
