LaVale,Maryland --- Ralph "Rocky" Dominic Phillip Winner, 74, of LaVale, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1925, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late James Clifton and Raphael Agnes (Parker) Winner. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Marie (Combs) Winner; two brothers, James H. Winner and Vernon J. Winner; and three sisters, Gertrude McKenzie, Dorothy Miller and Margaret Morin.
Mr. Winner was retired from the B&O Railroad, Cumberland, as a pipefitter. He was a radio operator for the U.S. Navy and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Central Assembly of God Church and the Mountain Amateur Radio Club.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Elaine (Whiteman) Winner; one daughter, Linda Marie Winner, Haymarket, Va.; one son, Mark Allen Winner, Haymarket, Va.; one sister, Betty Doolan, Cumberland; one brother, John P. Winner and wife Angela, Hopewell, Va.; three stepdaughters, Barabra E. Davis, Arlington, Texas, Shelly Dignan, Cumberland, and Margaret Conley, Ashland, Ky.; two stepsons, Robert Clayton and wife Meisa, Cumberland, and William Crites and wife Tammy; nine step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Central Assembly of God Church on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Douglas Seaman and the Rev. Robert Hymes officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Porter Cemetery, Stringtown, Pa.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
