Harold Fredrick Banderman, 95, St. Clair, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, in Washington.

Mr. Banderman was born Sept. 11, 1912, in St. Clair, the son of Fred Banderman and wife Nellie, nee Gullett.

On June 18, 1938, he was united in marriage to Alice Virginia Sullivan.

Mr. Banderman was a member of First Baptist Church, St. Clair. He served as a deacon and deacon emeritus.

He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army, entering Oct. 12, 1943, and receiving his honorable discharge Nov. 28, 1945.

Mr. Banderman was a member of Easter Lodge No. 575 A.F. & A.M. of St. Clair for over 40 years.

He was primarily employed as a truck driver for MFA Feed and Farm Supply for over 30 years.

Following his retirement, he worked part time for Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair for many years.

Mr. Banderman was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, Arthur and Glenn Banderman; and two sisters, Violet Payton and Eunice Banderman.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Banderman, nee Sullivan, St. Clair; two sons, Duane Banderman and wife Rebecca and Kirby Banderman and wife Kathy, all of St. Clair; one sister, Helen Boettcher and husband Al, Marble Hill; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 27, at First Baptist Church, St. Clair. The Rev. Dr. Phil Turner officiated.

Burial was held in Virginia Mines Cemetery, Lonedell.

Memorials to First Baptist Church, St. Clair, are preferred.

The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
