Kizzie Marceal Adkins was born to Berry and Martha McComas Adkins on February 13, 1899 in rural Wayne County in West Virginia. She had several siblings: Pierce, Foster, Ella, Ona and Minnie. Kizzie grew up on a family farm and was married to Edward "Ezra" Adkins in July of 1922. They had 2 daughters: Vonda Jestine Adkins and Verba Jean Adkins-White. Kizzie also had 2 grandaughters, and 6 great-grandchildren. Kizzie was a longtime member of the Eastern Star. She was an excellent cook and took pride in keeping a lovely home for her family.
