Mrs. Delila Pearson has a CSA pension application on line in the GA Archives under Coffee County.

She says she married James S. Pearson in 1853 in Coffee Co, GA.
He enlisted in 1862 in Waynesville, GA and served with Co. G of the 4th GA Cavalry.
He sent in a substitute in his place, Capt. Powell who served until the surrender.
His witnesses C. C. Buchanan and David Gaskins said that was true and the substitution took palce in 1863..so James S. Pearson served a year.

Mrs. Pearson gives James S. Pearson's death date as about Dec. 1905
Mrs. Delila Pearson said she had no property except 150 head of sheep worth about $300when she applied for a pension.

Her brother, Daniel Gaskins, signed his statement for her pension on 26 Sept, 1910.
