Herbert Bascom is survived by his wife Anita Dubus of Clifton, TX; three daughters, Denise Calvin, Kathy Dubus, Marie Garrett and one son; Denis Dubus. He also had 11 grandchildren.

Herbert was active in the US Navy for 20 years retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer and was recognized as an Expert Marksman on the Navy Pistol team. Herbert was also a runner up for the 1972 Olympic Pistol Team. He was an amateur photographer and very involved in the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Commissioner promoting the Boy Scouts and is Leadership.
