His brother, John A. Morrison, who lived in Preston, ID, ordered Joseph a headstone on 11 March 1938. It was shipped to John on 20 May 1938. Joseph Morrison, Jr. was in an unmarked grave until then.
Joseph's WWI Draft Registration Card was filled out on 5 June 1917 and he listed himself as a Minister of the Gospel and also he was listed as single. He also listed his name as Joseph Andy Morrison but signed Joseph A. Morrison. His residence was listed Franklin, ID.

After enlisting in the U.S. Air Force on 15 Dec 1917, Joseph contracted the flu in Saint Paul, Minn. where he was training and died 15 October 1918. His sister, Martha Ella also died 22 October 1918. They were both buried on the same day in Franklin Cemetery.
