George William (Bill) Pearsey 84, of Rushville, died Tuesday, May 20th at Millers Merry Manor in Rushville.

He was born February 13, 1924, in Rushville, the son of the late Max and Catherine (Jordan) Pearsey Sr. He married Patricia June Stamm on July 2, 1952 and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2008.

After attending Rushville High School, he entered into the Army Air Corps in 1943 and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in India Burma, Central Burma and China Offensive during WWII. He worked as a switchman for GTE for 33 years before retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville, as well as a member of the American Legion and Eagles.

Survivors include one sister Jeanine ( Mrs. Harold ) Hilt of Rushville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother Max Pearsey Jr. in 1997.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Friday, May 23rd at St. Mary Catholic Church with Re. William Turner officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Todd Funeral home on Thursday, May 22 from 6 to 8 PM, with a Rosary service at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary School 512 N. Perkins St. Rushville, IN 46173
