Ralph C. Reichart, of Hanover, passed peacefully from this life at home with his family at his side January 13, 2009.

He was the son of the late Chester and Roxie (Bechtel) Reichart.

Mr. Reichart was a member of the First Church of God, Hanover. He was also a life member of the VFW Post #2506 and a life member of the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14, New Oxford Social Club, Hanover Elks #763 and the Republican Club of Hanover.

He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the #730 Engineer Depot Co. overseas in the Philippines and New Guinea. Ralph was employed with Bethlehem Mines for over 33 years as a machinist retiring in 1983. He was very gifted with his hands and came up with many unique solutions to help others with business and home mechanical problems.

He was the husband of Lena (Auchey) Reichart for 65 years, they were married October 8, 1943, and surviving, in addition to her, are three daughters and a son, Diane Malloy and husband, Francis of Temple Terrace, FL, Jeanne Hartman and husband, Eugene of Littlestown, Randy Reichart and wife, Debra of Hanover, and Cynthia Freeland and husband, Tom of Atglen; one brother and one sister, Franklin Reichart of New Oxford and Mildred Richter of Hanover; eight grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Romaine Lentz and Kathleen Berkheimer; and three brothers, Earl, Lester, and Merlin Reichart.
