Dean of practicing physicians in Williamson County. He came to Nashville in 1931 to attend Vanderbilt Medial School. He received his M.D. degree in 1935 and in that year he married Miss Cara Sneed of Calvert, Texas. Established the Pyle Clinic which served medical and surgical patients until the Williamson County hospital was established in 1958. He was chief of staff at the county facility in 1960 and again in 1969.

They were members of the St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Nashville.

They have two children Walter Pyle, Jr. of Calvert, Texas and Mrs. Wendell Brittain of North Carolina, and five grandchildren.
