Charles F. Bunch, aged 83 years, 9 months and 24 days, died at the home of his son, Tom M. Bunch, eight miles north of Berryville at 9:45 p. m., Mon day, March 5. Mr. Bunch had been in failing health for a number of years and his death was not unexpected. Mr. Bunch was a native of Carroll county and his entire life was spent here with the exception of a few months in adjoining counties. He was a member of one of the prominent pioneer families of Carroll county, and during his active years was successfully engaged in farming and stock raising. He was an ex-Confederate soldier and fought with the Confederate forces during the entirety of the Civil war. In 1861, he was married to Miss Rehamey McCullough, who preceeded him in death - more than eight years, and to this union eight children were born, five of whom survive, they are; Mrs. Belle Cooper, Claremore, Oklahoma; Mrs. Sallie Carr, Will J. Bunch, John F. Bunch and Tom M. Bunch, all of this community. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Bunch became a member of the United Baptist church in early manhood and remained a devoted Christian. He was ever a kind and loving father, a loyal friend and neighbor. Since his wife's death in May, 1919, he had made his home with his children who during his declining years gave him every care and comfort devoted children could give. Funeral services were held at the Punch church Monday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. Revs. Jones and Bailey officiating. Interment was made in the Bunch cemetery.
