Agnes A. Boenker (nee Barklage), age 99, former long time resident of Bridgeton, asleep in Jesus, Friday, January 9, 2009 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Wife for 66 years of the late Carl H. Boenker; mother of Donald E. (Janis) Boenker; grandmother of Susan (Terry) Maglich, Jane Mayhook (Ken Friedman), and Elizabeth (David) Carlson; great-grandmother of Christopher and Ryan Maglich, Nathan, ZoeAnna and Lili Mayhook, and Thomas and Madeline Carlson; sister of five late siblings.

Mrs. Boenker had been looking forward to her 100th birthday. While living in Bridgeton, she was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Overland, the Bridgeton Historical Society and Garden Club and enjoyed crafts, bingo and crocheting. She was an avid baseball fan especially following the St. Louis Cardinals. She supported her husband as he participated in baseball at the local level and her son, Don, as he competed on local teams and during his high school, college and professional career. She was an excellent cook and provided many wonderful meals for her family and friends especially on special holiday gatherings. She deeply loved her family and friends. She was a strong Christian believer and a faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Overland, Mo. and Iowa City, Iowa.
