Marianne L. Sontag, age 69 of Yellville, passed from this life on Monday, January 12, 2009 at her home in the Pine Mountain community. She was the daughter of the late John Andrew and Helen Louise (Rumpf) Dauster and was born on March 25, 1939 in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Marianne married Marvin Sontag on June 30, 1956 and worked at S.W. Graphics in the Bindery Dept. She and Marvin had moved to the Yellville area in January of 1997 having come from St. Louis County, Missouri. She was a member of the Pine Mountain Auxilary and the Marion County Extension Homemakers and was of the Protestant faith.
Marianne is survived by her husband, Marvin, of the home; three sons, John Sontag of Yellville, Michael Sontag and wife Julie of Litchfield Park, Arizona, Fred Sontag and wife Brenda of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Donna Sontag, Alicia Sontag, Stephanie Sontag, Stacy Russell, Kristopher Bryan; and one great-granchild, Sean Russell. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15 between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following in the Burns Funeral Home Chapel in Yellville with Russ Dunham officiating. Interment will be at the Forever Bellerive Cemetery in Creve Coeur, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to CARTI of Mountain Home.
