Norvel was the oldest of nine children born to Hazzard and Luelle (Gray) Beene. He married Eva Lena Justice and they had four children: Willie Lorene, Manfred O., Thurman and Thelma Mae.

NORVEL R. BEENE DIES TUESDAY AT CITY HOSPITAL

Norvel R. Beene, well-known Collin County farmer, who made his home at Allen, passed away here at the City Hospital at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday following an illness of three weeks. Mr. Beene had resided in this county for the past 31 years, and he lived in Texas about 50 years.
Day for the funeral services is pending at the present but the last rites are to be held at the Baptist Church at Allen, of which the deceased was a member, with Rev. Milton Greer and Rev. S. D. Lindsey officiating. Interment will be made in the Allen Cemetery under the direction of the Harris Funeral Home of this city.
Mr. Beene, who was born Jan. 19, 1881, in Arkansas, was the son of H. Beene and Louella Gray Beane. He was a member of the W.O.W. and the Odd Fellows.
Surviving the deceased are the wife, Mrs. Zona Beene, the mother, Mrs. Louella Beene, of Dallas; two children, Thurman Beene, of San Antonio, and Mrs. Carl Marion of Allen; five step-children, Mrs. Cleo Shaffer of Arriba, Colo.; Mrs. Joe Wagner, of Hereford; Mrs. V. D. Coltharp of Hereford; Miss Margie Cochran, at home; one sister, Mrs. Van B. Hill, of Dallas; five brothers, R. T. Beene of Allen; Barney Beene, of Dallas; Minor Beene, of Las Cruces; M. M.; A. A. Beene of Las Cruces; N. M.; and five grandchildren. Thurman J. Beene of San Antonio; Sanra Beene of San Antonio; Carlena Marion, of Allen, and Paul Marion, twins, also of Allen.
