Dorothy J. Adkins of Hallsville died Dec 14, 1985, at the University Hospital and Clinics. She was 65. Services will be at 2 p.m. Dec 17, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1217 Business Loop 70 (burial in Millersburg Cemetery). The Rev. Ray Hartwell will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 16, at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Adkins was born Sept 21, 1920, in Eureka Springs, Ark. to Samuel and Myrtle Young. She married John Franklin Adkins Oct. 15, 1964, in Columbia. He survives. Mrs. Adkins was a bank secretary in Eureka Springs. She was a member of the Seven-day Adventist Church. Survivors include a son, Lewis Jones of Columbia, two stepsons, William Adkins and Roy Adkins of Columbia, a brother-in-law, George Lewis of Columbia, and five grandchildren. Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Lewis. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Eastern Missouri in St. Louis.
