Saxby Chaplin, Sr., aged 56 years, died at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. H. M. Collins, 1101 East boulevard, yesterday morning at 11 o'clock.
Funeral services will be held at the residence of Mrs. Collins this afternoon at 5 o'clock, rev. R. B. Owens, rector of the Church of the Holy Comforter, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood.
Mr. Chaplin was formerly a resident of Charleston, S. C., being engaged in the mercantile business in that city. Two years ago he was forced to retire from business on account of ill health and he removed to Charlotte. His health continue to be bad until the time of his death.
Mr. Chaplin is survived by his wife and eleven children, Saxby, Jr., George, Perroneau, Ruth, Robert Lee, Anna, Joseph, Charles, Paul, Ernest and Frank, all of this city.

HOLD FUNERAL SERVICE OF SAXBY CHAPLIN, SR.
The funeral service of Saxby Chaplin, Sr., was held Monday afternoon at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. H. M. Collins, 1101 East boulevard, where he died Sunday morning. Burial was at Elmwood cemetery, pallbearers being Lieut. L. C. Ellis, F. B. Davant, H. S. Mather, W. L. Bruns, Walter Charnley, J. C. Ferguson. Rev. R. B. Owens, rector of the Church of the Holy Comforter, had charge of the service.
The deceased came here from Charleston, S. C., two years ill health forced him to retire from the mercantile business. he was 56 years old and is survived by his widow and eleven children, all of this city.
