OBITUARY Iron River Reporter May 11 1928 “Funeral of Mrs. Rowell Thursday”
Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer Rowell, 48, who died last Sunday evening at her home, 823 Boyington street, were held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon from the First Lutheran church, the Rev. C. W. Erickson in charge. Burial was in Resthaven cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Anderson, Dan Watts, James Swift, Albert Baehr, Edward Mitchell and Anton Milanoski.
Mrs. Rowell, who had been a resident of Iron River for the last 24 years, was taken with a heart attack at 11 o’clock Sunday morning. She recovered during the day and appeared in good health when she retired. Another attack came at 11 o’clock in the evening, and she died an hour later.
She is survived by her husband, four sons, Ralph, Andrew, Robert and Archie, and a daughter, Gladys, all of this city. Surviving also are two sisters, Mrs. William Hanson, Iron River; Mrs. Fred Heiliger [?], Rice Lake, Wis.; three brothers, John and Herman Johnson, Rice Lake; and Oscar Johnson of Minneapolis, and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Rowell was born in Sweden on Oct. 15, 1879, and was brought to Chicago with her parents when she was a year old.
