STANARDSVILLE-- Ruth Seale Sampson Tanner died July 14, 1976 in a Richmond nursing home. She was 68. She was born in Greene County, the daughter of the late Edwin W. Sampson and Lula Sampson. She is survived by her husband, Charles Hunter Tanner of Stanardsville; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Fulwider of Richmond, Va. and Mrs. Jeanne Mauzy of Shenandoah; one son, Bobby Woodson Tanner of Highland Springs, Virginia; one sister, Mrs. Anna Tolker of Richmond; and three grandchildren, David and Harold Tanner and Kimberly Fulwider.

She was a member of the Stanardsville Methodist Church. She taught in the Greene and Madison County Schools of 34 years. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday by Rev. Paul Davis, Jr. and Rev. Ralph Richardson.
