Bessie Jane Richards
PITTSBURG — Bessie Jane Richards, 76, formerly of Niles, died Friday, March 11, 1994, at Beverly Health Center, Pittsburg.
Mrs. Richards was born Bessie Jane Rhudy on Jan. 21, 1918, in Lincoln County and was a resident of Pittsburg since 1979, moving from California. She and her husband had farmed in the Niles area until 1966. She was a member of the Solomon United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, in 1966; and a son, Thomas, in 1979.
Survivors include a son, Arnold of Solomon; two daughters, Barbara Brown of Archie, Mo., and Linda Decker of Pittsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Greenville Cemetery, Niles, the Rev. Bill Conover officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Solomon United Methodist Church or to the Shrine Crippled Children's hospitals.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, 208 W. Fourth, Solomon 67480.
