George Leonard Dotson Sr, 71 years old, died Friday morning February 23, 1962 in a Little Rock hospital after a long illness.

He was a retired grocery and restaurant owner, a member of the Second Baptist church, the Woodmen of the World, and lived at 410 Knox Street.

Mr. Dotson was born at Rudy, the son of J. T. and Sara Cradduck Dotson, who also were born at Rudy, and lived his entire life in this county.

Survivors are his wife, Maude of the home; two sons, G.L. Dotson Jr, and John Dotson, both of Van Buren; three daughters, Ollie Mae of Alma, June of Burbank, California, and Madeline of Glendale, California; three sisters, Angeline of Van Buren, Elizabeth of Fort Smith , and Addie of Coffeyville.

The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist church. The pastor Charles Graves and Robert Morrison officiated. Burial was in Gill cemetery, with Ocker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
