JIM H. "Papaw" HORN , 92, of Memphis, died Sunday, January 7, 2007, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Leawood Baptist Church and a former member of Merton Avenue Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. He was retired from the Memphis City School Board of Education, and had been employed at Walls Brothers Esso Distributors. Jim was a loving Christian husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Addison and Bessie Horn ; two brothers and six sisters. He leaves his wife, Mattie of more than 50 years; two daughters, Pat (Jimmy) Rodgers, of Bartlett and Hope (Chris) Pittman of Germantown; five grandchildren, Ashley Rodgers, Jonathan Rodgers, Olivia Pittman, Audrey Pittman, and Parker Pittman; two nephews, Barry Mac Rainey of Wyoming and David Rainey of California; and two nieces, Juanette Jones of Collierville and Melissa Duggan of Germantown.
