David Apodaca, 80 years a resident and patriarch of the northern end of Dona County, died at his home in Garfield at 8 p.m., friends were advised today.
Mr. Apodaca was the father of six sons and three daughters who families lived at Garfield for many years, formed the largest portion of the population in that area.
He was the grandfather of the late S.L. Apodaca, Dona Ana Couny Clerk before his death last summer.
Surviving Mr. Apodaca are five of his six sons: Arturo, Santiago, Jose and Nicanor of Garfield, Concho of Las Angeles. Three daughters; Mrs. Frank Luchini of Garfield, Mrs. Tomasa Benavides of Los Angeles and Mrs. Elvira of Hot Springs, New Mexico.
Funeral Services will be held in Garfield tomorrow which many old timers will attend.
