Mrs. Hollis Yore, 55, longtime Chico resident, died Wednesday evening at the Enloe Hospital after a short confinement. She had been receiving medical treatment for high blood pressure for some time.
Mrs. Yore was born in Red Bluff, July 23, 1893, and her parents moved to Chico while she was a child. She graduated from Chico State College in 1913 and returned later to the college for her AB Degree. She taught school for a while in Modoc County, and later in Colfax and Susanville.
While teaching in Susanville she met Arthur J. Yore, who was employed in Westwood. They were married in1 1918 and continued to make their home there until 1922 when they moved to Chico.
For the past year Mrs. Yore had been working at the Chico Public Library. She was a member of the Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Yore is survived by her husband, Arthur J. Yore; a sister, Mrs. George Doane of Red Bluff; a nephew, Robert Williams of Portola, two cousins, Mrs. Charles Whitaker of Chico and Jesse Worley of Susanville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Huddleston Funeral Chapel, with Rev. William MacInnes of the Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Chico Cemetery.
